New Delhi, India – The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of young lives in the recent incidents unfolding in Nepal since Monday.
In an official statement, the MEA said it is closely monitoring developments in the neighboring country and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, while also wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
“As a close friend and neighbor, India expresses hope that all concerned will exercise restraint and resolve issues through peaceful means and dialogue,” the ministry said.
The MEA further added: “We have also taken note that authorities have imposed curfew in Kathmandu and several other cities of Nepal. Indian nationals in Nepal are advised to exercise caution and adhere to the steps and guidelines issued by the Nepali authorities.”
The statement underscores India’s concern over the escalating situation in Nepal, where widespread protests and clashes have intensified in recent days.
