PM Modi and President Macron Address 14th India-France CEOs Forum in Paris

Paris, France – Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and French President H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron jointly addressed the 14th India-France CEOs Forum in Paris, reaffirming their commitment to deepening economic and strategic ties between the two nations.

The high-profile forum convened leading CEOs from a diverse range of industries, including defence, aerospace, critical and emerging technologies, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, life sciences, wellness, lifestyle, and food and hospitality.

PM Modi Highlights India’s Investment Potential

In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the expanding economic collaboration between India and France and its role in strengthening the strategic partnership. He highlighted India’s attractiveness as a global investment destination, citing its stable polity and predictable policy environment.

He also underscored key economic reforms introduced in the recent budget, including:
100% FDI in the insurance sector
Opening of the civil nuclear energy sector for private participation, with a focus on SMR and AMR technologies
Rationalization of the customs rate structure
A simplified income tax code to enhance ease of living and doing business

PM Modi also noted the establishment of a high-level committee for regulatory reforms to promote trust-based economic governance, highlighting the government’s efforts in rationalizing over 40,000 compliances to ease business operations.

Inviting French Investments in Key Sectors

The Prime Minister invited French companies to capitalize on India’s growth story, identifying defense, energy, highways, civil aviation, space, healthcare, fintech, and sustainable development as key sectors for collaboration.

Highlighting India’s advancements in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing, critical minerals, and hydrogen technologies, he urged French enterprises to partner with India for mutual growth and prosperity.

Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation in Trade & Investment

Joining the discussions, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs H.E. Jean-Noël Barrot, and Minister of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty H.E. Eric Lombard also addressed the forum.

The India-France CEOs Forum serves as a crucial platform to foster business collaborations, drive investment, and enhance technology-driven partnerships between the two nations. With growing global interest in India’s skilled workforce, innovation ecosystem, and pro-business policies, the forum reinforced the commitment of India and France to advancing economic cooperation and sustainable development.
