A complaint has been filed in Mumbai, Maharashtra, against popular social media personalities Ranveer Allahbadia (‘BeerBiceps’) and Apoorva Mukhija (‘The Rebel Kid’), along with comedian Samay Raina, for allegedly using ‘abusive language’ on the show India’s Got Latent.
Mumbai, India – Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his BeerBiceps podcast, has issued an apology for a controversial joke he made on the comedy show India’s Got Latent. His apology came after a clip from an episode of the show went viral on Monday, sparking backlash.
In a video message posted on social media platform X, Allahbadia admitted his mistake and expressed remorse. “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry,” he wrote in the caption.
He further elaborated in the video, saying, “I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part.” Acknowledging his responsibility as a content creator, he stated, “The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect.”
Allahbadia also assured his followers that he has taken corrective action. “I need to use this platform better, that’s been my learning from this whole experience. I promise to just get better. I’ve asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections. All I can say in the end is I’m sorry, and I hope you can forgive me as a human being.”
Political Reactions and Criticism
Social media influencer Jaicky Yadav has publicly raised concerns regarding YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia. Yadav has taken to social media to highlight the issue, drawing attention to certain remarks or actions by Allahbadia that he believes require scrutiny. His statements have sparked widespread discussions among netizens, with many engaging in debates over the matter.
As the controversy unfolds, followers of both influencers are eagerly awaiting further developments and a possible response from Allahbadia. In a post on X, yesterday, Yadav stated that he would file a complaint against Allahbadia if he does not issue a public apology. This declaration has further fueled the ongoing conversation, with many closely watching how the situation will be resolved.
The controversy has drawn political reactions, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressing the issue. “I have come to know about it. I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in a wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. In our society, we have made some rules, and if someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong. Action should be taken against them,” Fadnavis said.
Former National Commission for Women (NCW) Chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma also condemned Allahbadia’s remarks. “The video is very shocking, and I think whether it is a female or a male, this kind of joke is never accepted by society. Making jokes about a mother or a female’s body doesn’t look good, and somewhere it shows how today’s youth has stooped down morally. Such jokes affect others who are engaged in similar creative fields. I have forwarded the video to the NCW Chairperson to take action,” she said.
