Forum of Civil Pensioners Association (FCPA) Delhi State protested at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: On Saturday, at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, the FCPA Delhi State affiliates unanimously expressed their disappointment over the very low participation of pensioners in the protest action program being held under the FCPA banner and agreed to work vigorously to mobilize their grassroots members to participate in the protest program being organized by the FCPA/NCCPA headquarters, as their fight is directly with the government to protect the legitimate rights of over 7 million pensioners.Mr. Ishwar Dabas, Convener; Mr. S.K. Sharma, VP NCCPA and Member NC JCM; Mr. G.L. Jogi, G/S SNPWA; Mr. Anupam Kaul, Deputy G/S AIBSNLPWA; Mr. R.K. Mudgal, G/S MREWA; Mr. Tyagi, Veteran Leader, Civil Accounts; Mr. A.K. Kaushik, G/S RTOWA Delhi, and Mr. K.C. Verma, State Secretary, AIPRPA Delhi State, addressed a large crowd at the MASSIVE DHARANA agitation program. All FCPA trade union leaders emphasized the burning issues facing pensioners, such as the repeal of the #ValidationAct, changes to the Terms of Reference of the 8th CPC, and the withdrawal of the #SurpurnaMedicalClaimsAYUSH Insurance Scheme, which is a self-defeating attack on pensioners as part of a well-planned strategy by the government to crush them.FCPA members expressed serious concern over the government’s deliberate move to link CGHS with insurance, which aims to completely eliminate CGHS, the lifeline of pensioners, thereby diminishing its importance to various medical service providers. All members unanimously decided to oppose and defeat this dangerous move by the government, in order to deprive pensioners of a fair revision of their pensions and, perhaps, to the detriment of their own health. In the future, with as much will and commitment as necessary to defeat the move to shirk even the so-called pension obligations.*FCPA leaders unanimously stated that the government has launched the most dangerous attack on the various interests of pensioners, including both pension revision and CGHS. In this difficult situation, the FCPA Delhi Unit appeals to pensioners to understand the need to unite and fight to save “two vital lifelines—pensions and CGHS.”*FCPA Chairman, Mr. M.K. Bagchi, in his speech, emphasized the need for pensioners to be more vigilant and to participate in large numbers in all FCPA/NCCPA agitation programs to protect their legal rights. He thanked all FCPA leaders and the general public for their overwhelming participation in today’s agitation program.
