Namo Yuva Run Celebrates Youth, Fitness and India–Rwanda Friendship

Kigali, Rwanda —  A Namo Yuva Run was organized in Kigali to mark the birthday of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bringing together young people, members of the Indian community and friends of India in Rwanda to celebrate youth, fitness, community spirit and the growing bonds between India and Rwanda.

The initiative went beyond a birthday celebration, seeking to highlight the energy, aspirations and contribution of young people to nation-building and to promote the broader vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

The run provided a platform for participants to come together around fitness and healthy living while strengthening people-to-people connections between the Indian and Rwandan communities.

The event also highlighted the role of youth as a bridge between societies. India and Rwanda have been developing cooperation across areas including education, technology, entrepreneurship, capacity building and people-to-people exchanges. Youth-oriented initiatives can further strengthen mutual understanding of the two countries’ cultures, aspirations and development experiences.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saurabh Singhal, Chapter Head of The Diplomatic Club, said the Namo Yuva Run conveyed a simple message: “The youth of today are the builders of tomorrow.”

He emphasized the importance of encouraging young people to remain active, engage with their communities and contribute positively to society through participation and a sense of responsibility.

The event also reflected the broader spirit of Viksit Bharat, which emphasizes innovation, opportunity, inclusive growth and the active participation of India’s young population in the country’s development journey.

The Diplomatic Club expressed its appreciation to all participants, volunteers and members of the Indian and Rwandan communities whose support contributed to the organization of the initiative.

The Namo Yuva Run concluded with a message of youth empowerment, healthy living, community participation and stronger people-to-people ties between India and Rwanda.
