New Delhi, India — External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar (EAM) will embark on an official visit to the Kingdom of Spain from January 13-14, 2025. This will be his first visit to Spain as External Affairs Minister.
During the visit, Dr. Jaishankar will meet with Spain’s leadership and engage in discussions with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Manuel Albares, covering bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues of mutual interest. The EAM will also address the 9th Annual Conference of Spanish Ambassadors and meet with the Indian community in Spain, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

In addition, the MEA announced that Dr. Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Donald J. Trump, on the invitation of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. Donald Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025.
This visit underscores India’s commitment to deepening its diplomatic relations with Spain and enhancing engagement with global leaders.
