Dr. Sang Won Park, President of the World Korean Foundation selected as the Honorary of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month Celebration 2023 as the president of Korean American Association of Brooklyn, New York
New York, USA(DT)- Dr. Sang Won Park, President of the World Korean Foundation, received the Honorary of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month Celebration 2023.
Dr. Sang Won Park, President of the World Korean Foundation and the Korean American Association of Brooklyn, New York, held in New York on May 13 (local time) in celebration of the 2023 Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders(AAPI) Heritage Month Awarded the grand prize at the commemorative ceremony.
The commemorative ceremony held at New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, New York from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm was attended by about 300 people from Asian Pacific immigrants and guests from mainstream society. It was successfully held with various performances including Asian traditional dance.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Sang Won Park, President of the World Korean Foundation introduced himself, saying, “I am serving as the president of Korean American Association of Brooklyn New York as a Korean-American citizen.” As a result of the efforts of all of you who gathered at , 31 years ago, in 1992, a related bill was passed by the Federal Congress, and May is celebrated every year as ‘Asian Pacific American Heritage Month’. I sincerely thank you for choosing me.”
President Dr. Park went on to say, “The love of the motherland that all of you here have left behind will be the same as the love I have for Korea.” Let’s pray for our motherland as well, teach our children their motherland’s language and traditional culture, firmly plant their country’s identity, and do our best to serve as a bridge between our motherland and the United States.” The attendees applauded. responded with applause.

Chairman Park presented the winners Dan Goldman: United States House of Representatives from New York’s 10th District (New York’s 10th District), New York State Senator Andrew Gunades (New York’s 26th District), New York State Senator Iwen Chu (New York’s 17th District), and Alexa Abil. President Joe Biden said, “As well as Asians working in the government, such as Vice President Kamala Harris, Trade Representative Catherine Thai, and Labor Minister Julie Su, they are playing a prominent role in the economy, culture, sports, and medical fields.” He also announced, “I signed the bill to create the National Museum of Asian and Pacific History and Culture, and I will strive to help everyone achieve the American Dream.”
