Chinese Vice Premier Set to Visit Singapore and Azerbaijan to Strengthen Diplomatic Ties

Beijing, China (DT) – At the invitation of Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang will visit Singapore on Nov. 10 and 11, according to Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will co-chair the 20th meeting of the China-Singapore Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation.

Additionally, he will oversee key initiatives, including the 25th meeting of the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council (JSC), the 16th meeting of the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City JSC, and the eighth meeting of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity JSC.

Following his Singapore visit, Ding will travel to Azerbaijan on Nov. 12 and 13 as Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special representative. There, he will attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Ding is also expected to meet with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Abdulla oglu Mustafayev to discuss bilateral cooperation, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, and climate initiatives.

These visits underscore China’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations with Singapore and Azerbaijan, fostering collaboration in areas of trade, technology, and sustainable development.
